Artist and Art Tutor, Professional Member of the SSA
Based in Leith Edinburgh at WASPS Studios, Albion Road,
I am inspired by the intimacy of natural beauty created or revealed by what lies beneath the surface. My paintings are abstract and emotive interpretations of places and experiences, and in my creative practice I focus on colour and texture, working back through layers to reveal stories from before, the stories of change of land and sea.
I graduated from Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen, in 1979. My first ever solo show was held in 369 Gallery in the High Street, Edinburgh, in 1981.
‘Headland’ (122cm x 183cm, acrylics on canvas): a new painting being shown for the first time.
